Explore the world of glass fusing in this introductory, project-based class. Using our own creativity, you have the freedom to make your own designs! Following a brief safety lesson, you will learn how to cut and arrange flat glass compositions using colorful sheet glass, stringers, frit, and powders. When you’re done designing, we will fire your project in a kiln to complete your masterpiece.
Please note: Projects will be ready for pickup 1-2 weeks after the class.

Meet the Teacher
Steph Carter began teaching glass flameworking and fusing classes at the Rochester Arc + Flame Center in 2023. By day, she is a sales engineer for a porcelain insulator manufacturer. However, glass work is a fun outlet she enjoys sharing with others. Her passion for glass art began with her uncle at a young age, when he would give her glass-blown gifts at Christmas. He soon introduced her to a local fusing shop where she grew up, and they now enjoy sharing their projects with each other.
Rochester Arc + Flame Center is an 11,000 square-foot training facility designed specifically for welding, glass working, and blacksmithing with a mission to foster exciting and innovative classes for all.
