Meet the Teacher
Heather Behrendt, with eleven years of experience in glass work, has been an instructor at the Rochester Arc + Flame Center for 8 years, where she helps students develop their own glass skills and style. Her journey in glass art began in high school, exploring stained glass, fusing, and lampwork, which later evolved into a home studio practice focused on soft glass, creating beads, jewelry, and marbles using detailed stringer techniques. Apart from glass work, Heather enjoys exercising, spending time with her husband, and doting on her two cats. She finds joy in introducing beginners to the world of glass, nurturing what often becomes a new passion for them.
Rochester Arc + Flame Center is an 11,000 square-foot training facility designed specifically for welding, glass working, and blacksmithing with a mission to foster exciting and innovative classes for all.
